The Verdict

The thoughts which always came across in my mind was too much to be spoken. But somehow, I always thought that if I were to live with my parents in Kedah, I can save every penny in so so so much ways compared living where I am now:((

The first and foremost  is FOODIE:)) Yeah!~ Being me who eat like nobody business, food is always on top of the list. So, in Kedah, you can enjoy Nasi Campur with varieties of lauk in such a cheap price yo! Lemme give you an example:

Nasi + ikan bakar + air asam + lala/udang masak lemak + ulam + kerabu (any types of kerabu)sayur goreng + sambal belacan + any drinks .... less than or equal to RM7 :)

And not to be forgotten the food is way sumptuous than any restaurant here... If you have the same kinda lauk here, I have no idea how much will it cost because I always have nasi + ayam/ikan sambal + sayur goreng + any drinks at RM7 or even more:(

On the other hand, Kedah does not have Starbucks except Langkawi & Sungai Petani which that's the place where I always ended up lepak or anytime I want a nice cup of coffee:) You know how much does a Starbucks drinks cost you right??? It's like a temptation to go there as I know I'm not gonna get it once I'm in Kedah. All in all, at least I'm gonna invest around RM13-RM15 including tax just on drinks over there every single week whereas you can enjoy coffee at any restaurants/stall in Kedah at RM1 or most RM2 ONLY!!!!. If you calculate it properly, RM52-RM60 is invested at Starbucks without any pastries. Otherwise, the investment will hike up at least RM100:) While in Kedah, you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee with kuih-muih at RM5 ONLY:) And the total spending is at RM20:)) GOSH!!! That's kinda wide gap:)) To conclude, I can save at least RM50 a month if I were in Kedah for not enjoying a SUPER NICE Starbucks Coffee.

Geeeee!!!! That sound so BORING in Kedah right???? Naaaaahhhh!!! No doubt Kedah does have  McD, KFC, Pizza Hut, Secret Recipe, Big Apple and Oldtown White Coffee. But I guess, that would be all compared to KL where you can enjoy Chillis, Ben's, Alexis, Tony Roma's, Pastis, Italiannese, La Bodega,  TGI Friday's, Victoria Station, Tea For Two, Madam Kwans, just to name a few.... Transparently, you know where do all of your monthly income goes silently:)

Enough about foodie:) Let's jump into another aspect. Rentals:) Obviously, if I were to live in Kedah, I will never ever have a thought of my monthly rental which cost around RM200-400. Depends  on what type of house and room. Another penny saved!!!! Weeeeee!!!!

How about shopping spree and cinemas??? Oooopppssss... sorry to tell, Kedah especially in Alor Setar, it does not have a mall like Mid Valley or Suria KLCC and obviously not even close to what you see in Pavilion:) If you think that Metro Kajang does not have anything to offer, believe me, Metro Kajang is something compared to what you see in Kedah. Speaking about cinemas, ehem....ehem... there is not TGV or GSC in Alor Setar. There is a cinema, but it doesn't seem to be like TGV or GSC. Pathetic???? No! No! You can always find CDs and DVDs and watch it at home and nothing to worry to dress up like a Diva:) Haha.

Tolls!!! Oh my! Oh my! This is one fact where most of KLians can't avoid... If you live in Subang Jaya and work in the heart of KL, in a way, there are roads you can avoid tolls, but the aren't too and you have to pay at least RM1.60 one way:) Depends on the route you are planning to go. Let's take a very conservative number: RM5 a day. If you have 5 working days, it's RM25 and RM100 a month. Not to mention, there are tolls in Kedah. If you are from Alor Setar to Jitra it costs you at ONLY 40 cents!!!! Do you hear me? 40 bloody cents:)) Haha! Heaven yo!!!

And last but not least, TRAFFIC JAMS! I don't have to mention how massive the traffic jams in KL is, but one thing for sure, the only thing that make the traffic in Kedah a heavy one, just the traffic lights and constructions. Owh yes! festive season too:) Basically, you can reach one place to another without rushing yourself  within 15 minutes.

Clearly, I can save at least RM250- RM450 a month than nothing while still enjoying sumptuous foodie day and night:)

But, where can I shop for fancy clothes or shoes or any other stuffs if I were to live in Kedah?

Haha....

Wanna know?

You see... Geographically, Kedah is very close to Penang and being a F1 driver (Perasannnnnn!!!!) I can reach Penang around half an hour or 45 minutes only:) Penang has something to offer...Queensbay Mall, Gurney Plaza or Island Plaza:) Basically, you name it, you get it:)

With this technology world we are living in now, everything is at our fingers only. With a click, I can shop and shop online without having me to be at the mall:) Haha

So, that's the verdict.

Does not matter where do I/we live as long as you know how to control yourself and be firm with yourself ...

XOXO
